1. How often do you visit an
individual facility?
Most facilities are visited on a monthly
basis. Some facilities are smaller and may
not require monthly service, others may
require visits more than once per month.
Florida Eye Center can tailor a program to fit
your needs.
2. How often in advance do we need to
call to schedule a visit?
It is usually not necessary to call us, we
will be calling your facility automatically to
set a service date once we have activated your
service contract and mutually decided what
level of service works best for you.
3. How long do you stay at a
facility?
We typically visit one facility for either a
morning or an afternoon. We may schedule and
all-day visit if needed.
4. Will you come to our facility if
we only have 1 patient in need
of an exam?
We cannot provide mobile services for
individual patient visits and suggest that if
possible, the patient be scheduled for our
regular monthly rounds. However, individuals
are welcome to be transported to our offices
for examination.
5.
Can you provide eyeglasses for our
residents?
Answer: Yes, we can provide eyeglasses for
your residents. Most insurance programs do
not cover eyeglasses at this time. We will
happily measure and fit residents for glasses,
then send an estimate of cost to the
resident's financial guardian for payment.
Once payment has been received, we will
manufacture the eyeglasses, engrave them to
protect against loss, then deliver and custom
fit them to the resident.
6. What types of insurance do you
accept?
We accept Medicare, Medicaid, Evercare and
most other major medical carriers. Most
HMO's will not pay for medical eye services in
a facility setting unless there is an
emergency. In this case, we suggest that
patients pay privately for our services rather
than be transported out via wheelchair
transport van. The cost of the van ride is
usually about the same as our cash service
fee, and the ride is certainly unpleasant.
7. Do you accept Medicare?
Yes we accept Medicare.
